“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” — Luke 14:28
The Technician is an archetype of skills and abilities. The Project Manager brings his skills and combines them with the abilities of his co-laborers together for grander work. He is like other subtypes, the Bridge Builder and the Trail Guide, in how he takes the skills of others and connects them with interpersonal abilities. He leads the skilled and directs their efforts. He is a problem solver who tackles complex problems and organizes various workers for a common goal. He is the conductor of the symphony, and its song praises our glorious God.
With experience, the Project Manager is a competent team leader. He sees the opportunities in the lives of the lost and mobilizes the gifts of his team to advance the Kingdom. As the local believing community grows, he develops them to stand on their own and reach their neighbors. His bent is often pastoral, people first before “the mission”, knowing that people are the mission.
Assess the costs and plan for all contingencies. The work of Kingdom building is not simple. God needs the Project Manager to lead and to love the lost. In the work of missions, God is building much more than a tower. He needs men capable of that work. So rise up to the occasion. God will bless you and your work.
