“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” — 2 Timothy 4:2
Do people naturally flock to you? Are they interested in what you have to say, even if they disagree with you? And if you speak the Good News in winsome gladness, you may be the Glad Proclaimer.
He has the disposition of optimism, believing if people hear, they will believe. With strong overlaps with the Simple Evangelist, he speaks clearly and captivatingly. While he may not be the type of person, who gathers people with undo charisma, his confidence and clarity win him an audience. Whether with a large group or in a one-on-one conversation, he feels perfectly natural. He may be a worship leader or an evangelist. He guides people into worship or into an encounter with God.
These skills have a natural place in God’s missional work. Beyond his capabilities to share, he provides many other rich benefits. Like Barnabas, he speaks encouragement to those who are discouraged. He brings the truths of God, His very words of life, forward to all people. He leads people, the yet unreached and believers, to praise of the one true God.
So come. Proclaim the favor of the Lord! His gladness has undone the mourning of this world, and his garment of praise covers the nation’s sorrow. (Isaiah 61:2-3) Make known the Kingdom and its King. To our joy and the Lord’s glory.
