“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” — John 13:34-35

Need A/C repair, he’s got a guy. Need your lawn mown, he’s got a guy. Need your deceased, pet chinchilla taxidermied, you know he’s got a guy. He is the guy who always has a guy. He is the Natural Networker.

Entering into a room of strangers, he inevitably leaves it with a whole new coterie of friends and acquaintances. The Natural Networker, as his name implies, networks to form a complex web of intertwining connections. He is a people person, who intuitively makes personal connections with everyone he meets. Akin to the Bridge Builder, he befriends people quickly, but his mode of operation is not pulling from cultural insight, rather it is from charisma and raw social intuition. So in some ways he is the stereotype of a missionary, many men think of. But there is more depth to him.

Naturally forging relationships, he does the same in a new country, even when he has barely learned any of the language. These relationships can turn into bounds of trust, allowing the easier transmission of the Gospel by him and his teammates. In foreign cultures, trust is at a premium. Whether it is a question of navigating bureaucracy or the local business world, you need clout, influence, or wasta ("special favor" in the Middle East). Also using that trust, he enters into multi-generational homes, religious networks, and business networks. These are his seedbeds, where he tills and plants the seed of the Gospel.

May the Lord give growth to your planting. Love the lost, for the Lord has loved you first. You are God’s ambassador, a messenger of the Kingdom. So make its Good News known!
